Former U.S. President Barack Obama has given rapper Playboi Carti a major co-sign, revealing that his wife, Michelle Obama, starts her mornings dancing to one of Carti’s latest tracks.
In a message shared by Carti on Instagram, Obama congratulated the rapper on his new album, I Am Music, and disclosed that Michelle is a huge fan of the song “TRIM.”
“Playboi! Loving the album, congratulations. Michelle dances to TRIM every morning, we’re big fans.”
The revelation has set social media ablaze, with fans of both the Obamas and Carti reacting to the unexpected endorsement. Many are now jokingly calling “TRIM” the official Michelle Obama workout anthem.
Kanye West vs. Playboi Carti Over Kendrick Lamar Feature
Meanwhile, I Am Music has also sparked controversy, as Kanye West took issue with Kendrick Lamar’s feature on the album. West publicly criticized Carti for including Lamar, claiming he was unnecessary for the project.
Carti, however, wasted no time in shutting down Ye’s complaints, responding bluntly via Instagram:
“Ye, STFU.”
The drama aside, Playboi Carti now has an unexpected but powerful co-sign from the former First Lady of the United States—a stamp of approval many artists could only dream of.
