The immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, arrived at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja this morning under heavy security for his much-anticipated arraignment.

The premises of the court were surrounded by heavily armed operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who mounted tight security on all access routes to the venue.

Bello, dressed in a pristine white Babanriga, appeared unfazed as he entered the courtroom, greeted by chants of “Saaki” from his supporters and political aides. His composed demeanor and the display of loyalty from his entourage underscored the political weight of the occasion.

The arraignment is set to take place before Justice Maryann Anenih, who is expected to oversee the case amidst heightened public interest and tension. This follows Bello’s voluntary appearance at the EFCC headquarters on Tuesday, where he was accompanied by his legal team.

Further details on the proceedings will emerge as the session unfolds.
