Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek has addressed speculations surrounding Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen’s future with the Turkish Super Lig champions, saying it’s premature to discuss a permanent transfer at this point. Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli in the summer and has quickly become an integral part of the team, scoring four goals and delivering three assists in just seven matches.

The 25-year-old’s strong performances have sparked rumors that Galatasaray may pursue a permanent deal to keep him beyond this season. However, Özbek emphasized that the club’s current focus is on their ongoing successful campaign and it’s too early to make any decisions regarding Osimhen’s future.

“Galatasaray football team is having a successful season. Victor Osimhen is our player this season, and his performance has been impressive,” Özbek told Turkish media outlet haberaktuel.com. “We still have time ahead of us to plan the future of Galatasaray, and we will assess our options then. For now, our priority is to focus on success and achieving our goals as a team.”

Özbek also acknowledged Osimhen’s importance to the club, expressing pride that Turkish fans have the opportunity to witness his talent. “Osimhen is a very important player, and we’re delighted to have him showcasing his skills here in Turkey. We’re aware that he’s a player watched by fans across the country.”

Despite the ongoing discussions, Özbek reaffirmed that the board’s primary goal is to ensure a successful season for Galatasaray. The club currently remains committed to their title ambitions, leaving decisions about player contracts and future structuring to be considered at a later time.
