200 Level Mass communication students of a university in Imo State have reported their lecturers for missing classes and for not providing textbooks they purchased from their course representative.

After being Termed the Rebellious violent-man of the press. The students had reported to the deputy vice Chancellor of the school. 

While the lecturers are denying the allegations, they also accused the students for not attending classes, adding that none of the students gave them money for textbooks.

Should the lecturers be found guilty, it means they have gone against the school’s regulations that all textbooks must be purchased from the school bookshop. 

According to an inside source, the school senate have queried a number of lecturers in the Mass Communication department of the University, another source also has it that they are bent on punishing the students for reporting them.

The students who are not ready to bulge, said they are aware of how powerful their lecturers can be. 

“We know our rights as students, these lecturers can’t expect us to sit back as they take money from our pockets and not teach us”, one of them said.

Another student said, “This is exploitation, there is no value gained from our stay here in the university, we had to speak up” 

Details are yet to emerge from the decisions of the senate as to what will happen to the lecturers if found guilty, but the students are standing their ground, saying the are ready to provide any needed evidence to back their allegations.
