The Kano State Government, having carefully observed the illicit deductions from the monthly wages and pensions of workers by the previous administration led by Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, has taken decisive action by ordering the immediate suspension of the practice.

Baffa Bichi, the State Secretary to the Government (SSG), expressed deep concern over the improper deductions of N370.00 from the salaries and pensions of all civil servants and pensioners in the state. These deducted funds were subsequently remitted to Share Benefit Investment Limited.

In a circular addressed to all relevant offices, Bichi cautioned that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the immediate suspension of the deductions and remittances to the aforementioned firm. This suspension will remain in effect while an investigation is conducted into the circumstances surrounding the improper deductions.

Bichi further clarified that the purpose of the circular was to inform all civil servants and pensioners in the state about the executive approval and directive to suspend the deductions.

The government, as stated by the SSG, will conduct a thorough investigation into the reasons and methods behind these deductions, which have caused a significant outcry among the affected beneficiaries.
