A Federal High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has dismissed a suit filed by Hon. Sani Idris Kutigi against Hon. Isah Liman Kantigi, winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial primary in Niger State.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Director of Communications, PDP Campaign Council, Niger State, Usman Mohammad Yahaya and media aide, Comrade Israel kolo, in Minna.

According to the statement, who lost to Kantigi, filed the suit seeking disqualification of Kantigi as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2023 elections at the Federal Court 4, Abuja.

According to the statement: “The presiding judge, Hon. Justice Zaynab Mohammed held that Hon. Sani Idris Kutigi had no cause of action and so, therefore, the case was “dismissed.”

Kantigi beat four other aspirants to clinch the party’s ticket during the primary of the party on May 26, 2022. The aspirants were Sani Idris Kutigi, Sidi Abdul Gulu, Barrister Abdulrahman Gimba and Engr Abubakar Isah Jankara. Kantigi polled 667 out of 808 votes to emerge the winner of the contest, while his close rival, Sani Idris Kutigi polled 114 votes. Isah Jankara and Gimbal Abdul Rahman polled 21 votes and three votes respectively while Alh Sidi Abdul had no vote.
