Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has called on the Ulama to intensify the campaign for peace and good conduct of citizens in the state.

The Governor made the call when he received in audience, a renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa Kano in his office.

DAILY POST gathered that the Sheikh was in Zamfara State for a visit for advocacy and special prayers for peace in the state.

Governor Matawalle admitted that Zamfara State is being faced with a multitude of problems bordering on security which his administration is facing head-on, saying that there is need and the support of everyone to deal with dastardly activities.

“The depth of behavioural rot in the society is better imagined with the kind of discoveries I have made over time which, invariably, compound the security problems in the state”, he lamented.

“It is here in Zamfara state that we arrested a person who feasts on human parts and also sells same to ritualists within and outside the state. We have so far arrested no fewer than 13 persons linked to this heinous business.”

Earlier, Sheikh Daurawa, who was received by the Governor supported by the state Council of Ulama, commended Governor Matawalle for his pragmatic actions against banditry and other forms of security breaches in the state.

He advised Muslims in the state to imbibe Islamic teachings to ease hardships which are always affirm the purity and unity of God, noting that repentance from bad ways and being of help to the needy would end banditry activities.
