As part of the ongoing effort of the Ekiti State Police Command to rid the State of criminal elements particularly Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti, the operatives of the Command, on the 13th of July, 2022 clamped down on a group of hoodlums in their criminal hideout at Atikankan, Ado-Ekiti.

During the operation carried out by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), fifteen suspected drug dealers, armed robbers and cultists were arrested. They include Musa Madaki ’35yrs’, Abdullahi Umar ’25yrs’, Shola Adeyemi ’43yrs’, Hawalu Ali ’45yrs’, Usman Amisu ’30yrs’, Haruna Usman ’20yrs’, Yanusa Abubakar ’25yrs’, Usman Lawali ’20yrs’, Ajayi Opeyemi ’20yrs’, Toheeb Isa ’21yrs’, Ajiboye Michael ’19yrs’, Kayode Yinka ’20yrs’, Taiwo Michael ’20yrs’, Jimoh Zarheal ’19yrs’ and David Henry ’36yrs’.

Items recovered from the suspects are:
√ Two(2) locally made single barrel guns
√ Two(2) battle axes
√ Two (2) locally made pistols
√ Some wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp

The suspects confessed to be members of armed robbery gang, illicit drug dealers and cultists.

According to a Statement by the Command’s PPRO, DSP Abutu Sunday, The suspects shall be arraigned accordingly as soon as investigation is concluded.
