The Federal Government is taking back illegally acquired property and land in Federal Housing Authority (FHA) estates.

FHA’s Head of Public Affairs, Kenneth Chigelu announced the recovery on Tuesday.

The spokesperson said the authority was undergoing repositioning in all areas of operations.

He confirmed that the process had curtailed fraudulent acquisitions as was the case in the past.

The exercise, which started from Abuja, Lagos, South West zone – where the cases are much – has spread to other zones.

The FHA said the Miracle City Church (Ambassador Royal Ministries) affected had no valid title for its 15,000sq meters of land.

Chigelu added that the church had no approved building plan and could not produce of receipts of payment or genuine survey plans.

“FHA as a responsible government agency, statutorily has the responsibility of embarking on Development Control measures in her estates.

“These include serving of Stop Work orders to control contraventions and illegal developments”, Chigelu added.

The statement vowed that the FHA will ensure that all government properties acquired without due process are revoked.
