Peter Obi, one of the presidential candidates of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) has announced his resignation from the party.

Peter Obi yesterday announced the recent update through his Twitter handle @PeterObi, this got Nigerians reacting to the subject matter and giving their opinion.

Mr. Obi who released a memo of the resignation letter stated that he is not contesting for the presidency under the party as a recent development within the party makes it practically impossible for him to continue.

“I am writing to intimate you of my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which was conveyed to the chairman of Agulu Ward 2, Anaocha LGA Anambra, effective Friday 20 May 2022.

“Consequently, I am by this letter informing you of my withdrawal from the PDP presidential primaries.it has been a great honor to contribute to nation-building efforts through our party”

“Unfortunately, recent developments within our party make it practically impossible to continue participating and making such constructive contributions”

Meanwhile, under the comment suggestion of the post on his Twitter handle, Nigerians wrote their opinion concerning the matter.

 Some stated their disappointment in the party (PDP)for making the party inconducive for the candidate to pursue his political dreams of making Nigeria a better place.

Few others stated that this is a great loss to Nigerians, the party, and the Nation as well, but wished him well in any political party he would intend to join to continue his political career as they promised to vote for him.

“I will vote for you . Even if it’s the only vote you get, I will put it there to satisfy my conscience that I want a better Nigeria. My children want a better country. Those who are not supporting you are people who cannot feed themselves without politics and stealing. Watch them all”
