A legal practitioner and female governorship aspirant in Cross River State, Mrs Imah Nsah Adegoke has said the state does not need to fight over oil wells with neighbouring states to survive and grow economically.

Adegoke who had declared intention to vie for the PDP governorship ticket disclosed that the state has immense natural resources to harness and rake in revenue and compete with the comity of state.

Speaking to journalists in Calabar, Adegoke who first aspired to govern the state in 2011/2012 under the platform of Labour Party, explained that the state has diamonds and other precious stones in abundance.

“We do not need to fight with our sister states over oil wells. Our state does not need crude oil to survive. We are called Canaan land and that is actually what we are. With backward integration industrialization policy which addresses the specific produce and wealth of each local government area is the way to go.”
