A 34-year-old man identified as Yashau Ibrahim (34) has been remanded by a magistrates’ court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State for stealing two sewing machines and clothes from a tailoring workshop valued at N144,000 and N132,000 respectively.

Testifying in court, police prosecutor Inspector Johnson Okunade said the defendant is suspected to have committed the offence of burglary and theft from one Lamidi Fatima Hannah’s shop.

Okunade revealed that after Hannah discovered the theft and raised an alarm, “someone around her shop told her that he saw his tenant with two sewing machines and that the two machines were still in the house. We got to the house and saw the sewing machines but the suspect was not around. We were still there when he came in, and when he saw us he took to his heels but was later arrested.”
