Governor Charles Soludo says inmates in Anambra prisons will soon have access to news and events about Nigeria and the rest of the world.

Soludo, sworn in last week, gave the assurance on Monday in a brief of his activities on Sunday.

The governor disclosed that he visited the Ekwulobia Prison after his Thanksgiving Mass.

Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) officials led him on a tour of the facility to see the present condition.

Soludo had a chat with the prisoners, the wardens and assured them that a new system will be set up.

The Anambra helmsman announced that the review and completion of all lingering trials was top priority.

“I also promise that every leaking roof and damaged infrastructure shall be renovated”, he said.

“We will also look into the long outstanding unavailability of power supply by providing solar devices and television sets where inmates can watch football, news, movies, religious activities and entertainment.”
