He described the outcome as victory for democracy, congratulating Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on his resounding victory.

He hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for midwifing a credible election in the State by his disinterested disposition despite belonging to a party.

He also commended Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for being a reliable arbiter.

While acknowledging improvement in the electronic process, he said it was disappointing learning about reported failings of some of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), urging the INEC for improvement.

While congratulating the Candidates of various parties for putting up a good fight, he observed that only one candidate will emerge based on the feelings of the people.

He urged the Governor-Elect Soludo to live up to his name, his antecedent of excellence and his electoral promises to the people.

For his party, APC, he stated: “it is about time people appreciated APC for what they stand for. We stand for Democracy and we have made sacrifices for the people to have their way.

“There is no need for blame games, we must learn to be sincere and eschew bitterness. I want the APC stakeholders to come together and review things and prepare for next election.

“I commend the good spirited Anambrarians who ensured that right things were done and refused to be bought with money at the expense of their future.

“I call on my people of Imo State to learn from the people of Anambra State and put an end to petty money politics so as to have the nerve to challenge their leaders on their constitutional obligations”, he stated.
