Imo state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has poured encomiums on a philanthropist, Prince Alex Mbata for constructing a 2 km road in Owerri, the state capital.

Governor Uzodimma gave the commendation, Wednesday while commissioning a 2km road constructed by the philanthropist.

According to the governor, Prince Mbata did not start his philanthropy with the 2 km road in Owerri.

He observed that Mbata had constructed roads at his hometown, Ngwoma, Owerri North LGA of the state.

The governor explained that he is commissioning the road to demonstrate his appreciation and love for the gesture of and prayed God to reward Mbata abundantly.

Governor Uzodimma called on other Imolites to emulate Prince Mbata by supporting the state government in infrastructal development.

He posited that government cannot provide all the needs of the governed.

The governor assured that every road project embarked upon by any Imolite will be named after him.

Earlier, Prince Mbata explained that he was motivated by the performance of Governor Hope Uzodimma within one year in office to undertake the construction of the road

He said the gesture was to complement the efforts of the governor to better the lives of the citizenry.

Prince Mbata said he will do more for the state and had wished the road bears Grace and Mercy road.

The Ngwoma born philanthropist stated that Hopism means, government meeting the needs of his people.
