The Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been cautioned against criticizing State Governor, Hope Uzodimma for securing approval of the state legislature to obtain a N5 billion loan facility.

The Senior Special Assistant on Print Media to the Governor, Modestus Nwamkpa gave the warning in a statement he issued on Wednesday.

Nwamkpa insisted that the opposition lacks the moral authority to criticize the legislature for approving what he termed a developmental loan, which has a clearly spelt repayment schedule.

The media aide noted that in spite of the promise not to take loan, the ousted PDP administration still went ahead to borrow billions of Naira to purchase refurbished jeeps for members of the state legislature.

Nwamkpa stated that the PDP administration collected the loan not minding the fact that it inherited about N50 billion from the Rochas Okorocha’s administration.

He further stated that the PDP administration failed to construct any road in the state.

“It did not build any road except the road by Priceless Store which Okorocha started the earth work before leaving office”.

Nwamkpa said the Uzodimma administration inherited an empty treasury and a comatose economy from the PDP government.

He explained that the N5 billion loan approved by the House was meant to be ploughed in building hospitals and roads across the state, though part of it might be used in purchasing vehicles.
