There is drama in Imo politics as alignment and realignment of political actors is taking place.

The All Progressive Congress, APC, in Imo State, has raised an alarm, alleging that two former Governors of the State, Senator Rochas Okorocha and Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, have reconciled and now in alliance against Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The alarm is anchored on a recent move by the camp of Uche Nwosu which filed a motion at the Supreme Court demanding the execution of the judgement of the highest court of the land.

The motion was filed by a lawyer, Phillip Emeadi.

Emeadi is demanding that the judgement which expressely stipulates that the APC and the AA, had no candidate in the last election be carried out and the PDP candidate, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha be returned as Governor of Imo State.

The move has sparked reactions from various quaters as analysts say that there could be an alliance between Uche Nwosu’s father in law and former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha and former Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

Okorocha is of the All Progressive Congress, APC, while Ihedioha is of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The duo are known to be bitter political adversaries, but the APC in Imo State say it is no longer so, insinuating that the duo are now on the same page using Uche Nwosu “ as a pawn in their desperate bid to clinch back to power”

A statement by Cajethan Duke, Director General, New Media, Imo APC, in Owerri, he fumed at Okorocha’s son in law, Uche Nwosu resort to institute a legal action against Uzodinma on the grounds that he is the validly nominated 2019 governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

The Imo APC spokesman said “It is however laughable and ridiculous that Mr. Nwosu kept the media space awash with claims of disassociating himself from the dead -on – arrival suit filed on behalf of Ihedioha by one nitwit named Kingdom Okere.

The statement continued “He went ahead to sue for peace and pledged his support to the administration of Governor Uzodinma……. We are not surprised that Nwosu has taken after his father-in-law. People who cannot honour their words are not worthy to hold the mandate of the people.

The APC spokesman said Nwosu is fighting a lost battle, expressing surprise that “two sworn political enemies, Okorocha and Ihedioha, have reconciled for personal political gains”

“Okorocha and Ihedioha have, in the pursuit of their selfish and inordinate political ambitions, reconciled for the purpose of distracting the focus, as well as slowing down the speed of governance in the state by using Nwosu as a pawn in their desperate bid to clinch back to power” he said

Recall that the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja on Monday July 20, 2020 adjourned to September 29, 2020, a matter filed by Kingdom Okere of RAP seeking judicial interpretation to ascertain if the All Progressive Congress, APC, sponsored Senator Hope Uzodinma as its governorship candidate in the 2019 governorship election in Imo State.

The court admitted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the matter.
