A leading cleric, Bishop Uzoma Emmanuel has descended heavily on the Christian bodies for attempting to scuttle the conference of witches and wizards in Enugu.
Bishop Emmanuel of Christ Alive Victorious Mission Owerri took a swipe at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) for mobilizing against the conference.
The conference reportedly held on Tuesday in Enugu in spite of earlier report that it had been called off.
Bishop Emmanuel said there was no need to stop the conference when some pastors and churches, who are members of these Christian organizations secretly hold conclaves in the coven of witches and wizards.
He said the conference would afford the church the opportunity to know the modus operandi of the witchcraft association.
He said; “I don’t see anything wrong in holding the conference. I wonder why CAN that is Christian Association of Nigeria and PFN should be worried about it.
“It is an academic lecture and an exercise which will help the church to know some new ways of their operation.
“Let the conference be held. I wish it is holding in Owerri I would have loved to attend the programme.
“God warned Israelites not to practice it because of its consequences, yet today, some pastors are secretly involved in this act. They know themselves, and some so-called churches are also involved.
