Following the purported withdrawal of the adoption of the former Chief of Staff, and governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, AA, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, as a bonafide son of Umuoyima Autonomous Community in Owerri Municipal, Daily Nigerian Horn learnt that consultations have reached advanced level to compel other communities which had bestowed Nwosu with similar titles to withdraw them.

Notable communities that have conferred Nwosu with the Ugwumba title includes, traditional rulers from the three local governments of Aboh, Ahiazu and Ezinihitte Mbaise respectively, who conferred the “Ugwumba Oha Nile” title to Nwosu. Others include traditional rulers from Ngor Okpala LGA and that of Nwangele, Nkwerre, Njaba, Isu Federal Constituency.

Daily Nigerian Horn, further learnt that the Umuoyima event was a test run of what to befall the Nkwerre-born politician.

It was also gathered that the NYSC orientation camp which the former Chief of Staff allegedly relocated to his home town Eziama Obiare in Nkwerre LGA will be removed and returned to its former place at Umudi to further spite the AA guber candidate.

To further smoothen the ground, Daily Nigerian Horn learnt that the declaration of Senator Rochas Okorocha’s media aide Sam Onwuemeodo as persona non grata, by the traditional rulers of Aboh Mbaise is part of the grand scheme to either humiliate Okorocha’s aides or subject them to submission.

Onwuemeodo, the Publisher of Whitepaper Newspaper is a kinsman of Governor Emeka Ihedioha and an avowed critic of his administration.

Reacting to the purported withdrawal of indigeneship by the Umuoyima autonomous community, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu said that at no time did he lobby or made any request from the traditional council of Umuoyima to be conferred with the honorary sonship, rather it was the traditional ruler who, in recognition of his sterling records in humanitarian interventions and political leadership, from which numerous sons and daughters of Umuoyima are beneficiaries, persuaded him to take up the honorary sonship which he partially refused to take but was prevailed upon by the traditional ruler’s persistent visits and near importunateness to take up the honour, more as a sign of respect and love for the people of Umuoyima rather than for lack of honours.

In a press statement issued by his director of Media and Publicity, Onwuasoanya FCC Jones on Tuesday and availed Daily Nigerian Horn, Nwosu stated that he was aware of the circumstances leading to the unfortunate statement by the traditional ruler especially as he was reportedly threatened with dethronement and banishment, if he failed to make that declaration, stating that as a man who would always give anything for the substances of peace and harmony, he has freely and without any ill-feeling accept the statement of His Royal Majesty Eze Theophilus Ubah, the Oyima of Umuoyima in good faith.

The statement further states”.

Meanwhile political observers have reacted to the move by the Ihedioha-led administration to strip Nwosu of his deserved titles describing such actions as petty.

Several commentators were of the opinion that the state government should rather concentrate on the enormous task before it instead of dissipating energy on pursuing its perceived political enemies.
