An Imolite, Dr. Mrs Onyekachi Ibe of Government Technical College, Owerri has emerged as one of the winners of the Best Teacher’s Award Category of the 2019 President’s Teacher’s Award for Excellence in Education.
Prof Viola Onwuliri, Commissioner for Education, Imo state disclosed this in a release she issued on Tuesday in Owerri.
It further reads:
“This is to inform the good citizens of Imo that the Rebuild Imo Government of Imo State has achieved another milestone in the education sector.
“This occurred with the emergence of Dr Mrs Onyekachi Ibe of Government Technical College, Owerri, as one of the winners of the Best Teacher’s Award category of the 2019 President’s Teachers and Schools Award for Excellence in Education organized by the Federal Ministry of Education. While a private school in the State, Pearlville International School won the best school award.
“By these awards Imo State has established itself in Nigeria and beyond as a bastion of qualitative education.
“This positive development is a direct result of the investments made so far by the Rebuild Imo Government in the education sector, particularly in the training and re-training of teachers of Public Schools in the State.
“We felicitate with Dr. Mrs Onyekachi Ibe, the Management and Staff of Pearlville International School for making Imo State proud. Special thanks also, goes to Mr. Performance, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Nkem Ihedioha, CON , KSC for his commitment in revamping the education sector. Indeed Imo is being rebuilt. Imo must be rebuilt.”
