Media Consultant and former Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ)in Imo state,Chief Dr Fidel Onyeneke has described the victory of Governor Emeka Ihedioha at the tribunal as a divine blessing from God , aimed at further uplifting the living standard of Imo people as well as elevating their social political and economic well being.

Reacting to the judgement of the tribunal in Owerri , Chief Onyeneke said that the people of Imo more than ever,needed a democratic government that would address the biting and treacherous issues which had retarded the development of the State, and plunged the masses into untold hardship.

He observed that God heard the fervent prayers of the electorate by granting the tribunal judges the wisdom to uphold the mandate of the people.

Chief Onyeneke expressed optimism that Governor Ihedioha would expedite action in rendering quality services in the state,with particular emphasis on the provision of projects and infrastructural facilities which touched positively on the lives of the masses.

The media Consultant called for the cooperation of the entire citizenry of the State to enable the government achieve its mandate of serving the state creditably.

Chief Onyeneke stressed that good governance remained the joint responsibility of both the government and the governed,even as he advised the Ihedioha administration to set up appropriate mechanism to deliver the expected dividends of democracy.

He stressed the need for an effective communication system between the government and the masses as a deliberate effort to feel the pulse of the electorate with a view to satisfying their needs.

According to Chief Onyeneke, the Ihedioha administration has started well and recorded impressive achievements in the past one hundred days,considering the initial bottle necks which hindered the smooth take off of the new government.

The Media guru however urged the government to remain focused, and shun unnecessary distractions which are detrimental to the desires,yearnings and aspirations of the masses. He advised the aggrieved persons and parties to sheath their swords and support the activities of the government for the benefit of Imo.

Chief Onyeneke pleaded that what the state needed now was the sacrifice of all and sundry, to accelerate the socio cultural , political and economic growth of the state irrespective of the political and religious inclination of the various interested parties.
