The State Government has presented a cheque of five million naira to the family of late retired Colonel Joseph Achuzie towards the preparations for the burial of the statesman.

Making the presentation on behalf of the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha at the Government House Owerri, the Chief of Staff, Chief Uche Nwosu described late retired Colonel Achuzie as a committed supporter of the unity of Nigeria and the Igbos in particular.

Chief Nwosu said he was a great Igbo Leader and close friend of Owelle Rochas Okorocha and urged other Governors of the South East and Delta State to support in giving the late Igbo icon a befitting burial.

The second son of the deceased, Mr. Simon Achuzie on behalf of the family thanked the governor for the kind gesture.

The late retired Colonel Joseph Achuzie until his death was the Secretary-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo and hailed from Delta State.

Similarly, the Chief of Staff, Chief Nwosu has commiserated with the Chairman of Board of Trustees of Ugwumba Movement, Prince Charles Amadi over the death of his mother Ezinne Dorathy Iwuamadi.

He said late Dorathy’s life on earth was eventful as it was marked with good legacies and encouraged the family to remain strong and take solace in the fact that she lived a good life.

Responding, Prince Amadi thanked Chief Nwosu for identifying with his family and assured him of the support of Ikeduru people in his political endeavour.
