We have worked hard to reward artistic ingenuity since day one and also educating the teaming fans of the award, the public and the entertainment industry about the rules of the awards and the criteria for nominations in each category. Often times, we realize that the fans, people in the industry and the media are misled; because they are in a hurry to get by with the nominees list and they neglect reading between the lines, not caring about the rules of nominations and criteria.
Hence, it is important to set the record straight and continue to enlighten.
The Categories Are:
1. Next rated artist: Next Rated for example are officially unreleased artiste in the year under review. This means, no matter how popular your song may be, how many hit singles or how many beautiful music videos you may have, if you have not recorded and released an official album, you are still eligible to be nominated for that category. In the same vein, no matter when you start your career, as long as you have released an album, you have passed the Next Rated Category.
2. Best male and female artist: This awards given to honor the outstanding achievements artists have made it in music every year. The winner is determined based on sales and overall quality of content released within the eligibility period.
3. Best producer of the year: the award is presented to producers who “represent consistently outstanding creativity in the area of record production.
4. Best Dj of the year: this award is presented to dj who “represent consistently outstanding creativity in the area of helping owerri upcoming artist in promoting there songs around owerri.
5. Best promoter of the year: This award is presented to top owerri music promoter or music/entertainment blog which helps to promote massively owerri artist online.
6. Best collabo of the year: Best Collaboration honors rap collaborations, R&B collaborations or Rap/Sung collaborations
7. Best song of the moment: to “honor artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry, without regard to album sales or chart position
8. Best studio of the year: This award is presented to studios in owerri which has help owerri artist produce good songs for the year.
9. Best Mc/comedian of the year: this is presented to honor artistic achievement in comedy.
