Singer KozyG has pleaded with the people of Imo State, its environs and the entire country to give the entertainment industry in the state time to grow.

KozyG who had a good run last year, with just one single, said all the people have to believe in artistes that are based in South East and leave the rest to them.

He said that the lack of belief and comparing the industry in Imo State especially with that of Lagos is very unfair because Imo and the entire South East are yet to enjoy 20% of the amenities artistes in Lagos have at their disposal.

“We are talking a mega city here, a place where everything exists in multiples. They can boost of more than 20 radio station as well as some others that are solely dedicated to entertainment and same thing applies to TV stations.

How many do we have here in Imo State? Even radio and TV presenters here aide this confusion forgetting that we are all the same. If we had ten radio stations here I don’t think airplay will be a big deal for artistes. Same thing with TV stations. There are no local programmes here, everyone wants to be like MTV base and like that TV interviews are off the reach of artistes based here.

Because they are few, it becomes are problem for everyone and it is just the way it is.” He said.

He however noted that not having these amenities should not be an excuse for everyone to fold their hands, but believes the industry can only get better if the people try to give artistes based in the state a chance to prove what they have.

“If they can believe in us, support us, we will surely get there. This is not a matter of talents because it is overflowing here. Occasionally some of us have thrilled the crowd more than the imported artistes, but the fact still remain that people around here need to believe in their own, so that we can break the barrier. If that happens, we can get better within a short time” He added.

KozyG stayed afloat last year with several collabos and performances with his unreleased tracks. He is planning dropping a track before the first quarter of 2014 runs out, which according to him will worth the silence.
