Few days after the National Youth Summit’s train left Owerri, the capital city of the Heartland State, the Special Assistant on Youth and Sports to Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorcha, Mr Okey Obi is warming the engines of Imo Youth Summit, set to take off December 10,  2012.
Speaking to www.otowngist.com, Mr Emma Duru, DG Imo Talent Centre and the  Public Relations Officer of the project said that the summit is being  organized in conjunction with youth bodies in the state.

“We want to prepare Imo Youths for the challenges ahead. The summit will educate him, motivate him, and empower him as well” Mr Duru Said.
Mr Duru added that the one day summit will feature motivational speeches from great achievers like Prof Wole Soyinka, Prof Jerry Gana, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka and Bishop A J V Obinna.
“We also have plans to bring Nkem Owoh (Osuofia), Flavour, Tj and John Okafor (Mr Ibu) to entertain at the event.”
Following the agitations of Imo State based artistes during the 50th birthday and 10th anniversary celebration of Governor Rochas Okorocha and Rochas Foundation respectively, Mr Duru vowed to see that Imo State based entertainers take about 60 percent of the spots meant for entertainers as well as have a good number of them on the event’s poster and flyer.
“We have Acharaman, Aifee, Lo’Key, Dj Chet and LMG among the musicians while on the side of comedians we have 2Can Talk, Banana Mouth, KNora, WitMoral and MC Egbeigwe. Although more of the artistes will still perform at the event, but majority of those mentioned here will be on the poster of the event” Mr Duru added.
