Zaria Councillor Lamido Muhammad, Two Sons Reportedly Abducted by Suspected Bandits

A supervisory councillor for Special Duties in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Lamido Muhammad, has reportedly been abducted alongside his two sons by suspected bandits.
The two sons were identified as Aliyu Lamido and Amir Lamido. The three family members were reportedly taken to an undisclosed location, with their whereabouts unknown at the time of the report.
According to a source, the attackers invaded Muhammad’s residence in Wucicciri, in the Abba area of Zaria, around midnight on Sunday before abducting the councillor and his sons.
The source said the incident had heightened concerns over repeated abductions and the safety of residents in the community.
The abductors had reportedly not contacted the family to communicate their demands or request a ransom. No further details were provided about possible negotiations or efforts to secure the victims’ release.
The source called on the authorities to take decisive action to protect lives and improve security, questioning how long families would continue to live in fear of abduction.
The incident adds to wider concerns over insecurity in Kaduna State and the North-West, where armed groups have continued to carry out kidnappings and attacks on communities.
Efforts to obtain an official response were unsuccessful. The Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, could not be reached, as calls to his phone went unanswered. The circumstances of the reported abduction and the victims’ whereabouts remained unclear.
