Makinde Appoints Wolekanle as Oyo Chief of Staff After Ogunwuyi Resigns

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff following the resignation of Segun Ogunwuyi from the position.

The appointment was announced alongside the appointment of Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the Oyo State Due Process Office. The state government said both appointments take immediate effect.

The appointments were conveyed in letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde, according to the report.

Akinwole is a grassroots politician who previously served as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission. His appointment places him in the role previously occupied by Ogunwuyi, who recently resigned.

Adedayo, who currently serves as Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies, will retain her existing position while taking on the additional responsibility of leading the Due Process Office.

Governor Makinde congratulated both appointees following the announcement. He urged them to approach their new responsibilities with loyalty, commitment and dedication to the service of Oyo State.

The changes affect two key positions within the state government, with Akinwole taking charge as Chief of Staff and Adedayo assuming leadership of the Due Process Office alongside her current duties.
