Ronaldo’s Mother Breaks Down in Tears After Son’s Portugal Camp Exit

Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, has revealed that she cried after her son left Portugal’s national team camp last week, describing the incident as a shock.

Aveiro spoke publicly about the situation for the first time in a statement to Portuguese publication TV 7 Dias. She said she was saddened by how the incident unfolded but expressed hope that things would improve.

“I feel sad, it’s normal. It was a shock, my son could have left through the main door and instead he left through the small door, but it’s okay, God will take care of it,” she said.

The development followed Ronaldo’s reported departure from the national team camp after he remained on the bench throughout Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Norway in the UEFA Nations League.

The 41-year-old forward reportedly explained that his decision to leave was linked to what he described as a “breach of trust” between him and head coach Jorge Jesus.

Aveiro said the episode had affected her emotionally, admitting that she shed tears over the circumstances surrounding her son’s departure. However, she suggested that expressing her feelings had also helped her deal with the situation.

“I cried a little. It’s good too, to let go. We have to turn this around,” she said.

Her comments have added a personal dimension to the controversy surrounding Ronaldo’s reported exit from the national team camp, with attention focused on the circumstances behind the decision and its implications for his relationship with the coaching staff.
