Kizz Daniel Reveals Why He Took Break From Music After Mother’s Death

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has disclosed that the death of his mother earlier this year prompted him to take a break from music.

The singer made the revelation on Friday while responding to a fan on X, who had speculated that he was taking time off to work on a new album.

Kizz Daniel dismissed the suggestion, explaining that his absence was due to the loss of his mother rather than preparations for a new music project.

“I paused for my Mom, not an album… Lost her this year, but I gotta keep moving for the rest of the family… sorry I came late this year,” he wrote.

The singer’s response offered insight into the personal circumstances behind his reduced activity this year, as he acknowledged the need to continue moving forward for the rest of his family.

In 2025, Kizz Daniel had also revealed that his wife lost her mother in 2024.
