Speed Darlington Threatens to Fight Burna Boy, Wants Him as Next Boxing Opponent

Nigerian musician Speed Darlington has said he would physically confront fellow entertainer Burna Boy if they meet, escalating their long-running public dispute.

Speaking during an interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Speed Darlington said he has no relationship with the Grammy-winning singer and claimed he would confront him if they found themselves in the same room.

The “Akpi” crooner also expressed interest in facing Burna Boy in a boxing match if he defeats content creator and musician Carter Efe in his upcoming bout.

“Me and Burna Boy have no relationship. If Burna Boy enters any room that I am present in, I will fight and jump on him,” Speed Darlington said. He added that he hoped Burna Boy would be his next opponent if he wins the planned fight against Carter Efe.

The comments add to a dispute that has continued between the two entertainers over several years. Speed Darlington previously made allegations involving Burna Boy and American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, including claims concerning Burna Boy’s Grammy award.

Speed Darlington was subsequently remanded in custody in connection with allegations of defamation involving Burna Boy before being granted bail. The matter remains before the court.

Burna Boy has not publicly responded to Speed Darlington’s latest comments. The latest remarks have nevertheless renewed attention on the entertainers’ ongoing dispute and Speed Darlington’s interest in settling the rivalry through boxing.
