Arsenal could have a clearer path to signing Victor Osimhen, with reports suggesting Galatasaray may be willing to consider an offer above £60m for the Nigerian striker.

The Premier League champions have maintained interest in Osimhen and could make a formal approach in the coming weeks as Mikel Arteta looks to add more quality and depth to his squad before the transfer window closes.

Football Insider reports that Arsenal recently explored Osimhen’s availability during discussions with Galatasaray over a possible transfer involving Gabriel Martinelli. However, any move for Osimhen is expected to be negotiated separately from a potential Martinelli deal.

The reported £60m-plus figure could put Arsenal in a strong position, but the financial package would extend beyond the transfer fee. Osimhen is currently earning more than £300,000 a week at Galatasaray, meaning Arsenal would likely have to make him one of the club’s highest-paid players to complete the deal.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray permanently last summer on a four-year contract after his previous spell with the Turkish club. He made an immediate impact, producing 28 goal contributions in 33 appearances during his first season as a permanent Galatasaray player.

Arteta has also made it clear that Arsenal are not finished in the transfer market. The manager said the club remains focused on improving the squad whenever opportunities arise, particularly by adding quality and greater depth.

“There is more that we want to do because every time we have an opportunity to improve the squad and bring more quality and depth to the squad, we need to do that,” Arteta said.

Osimhen, for his part, has not ruled out a transfer but appears focused on his current responsibilities at Galatasaray. After scoring twice in the club’s Super Lig opener on Friday, the 27-year-old acknowledged the speculation surrounding his future while refusing to commit himself to a particular outcome.

“There are always rumours in transfer seasons,” Osimhen said. “I will take care of my business. I am focused on my job, then we will see and think further.”

If Arsenal can agree a fee with Galatasaray and meet Osimhen’s wage demands, the move could become one of the biggest transfers involving a Nigerian player. For now, however, the reported £60m figure is a potential negotiating threshold rather than confirmation that a deal has been agreed.
