The Rivers State Police Command has arrested social media personality VeryBlackman over an alleged threat to the life of reality star and comedian DeeOne.
VeryBlackman, described as a prominent member of the Ratel community and a brother of controversial activist VeryDarkMan, was reportedly arrested in Rivers State on Saturday.
Sources said the arrest followed his alleged failure to honour an invitation from the police over the reported threat. He was subsequently transported to Lagos on Sunday.
DeeOne reacted to the development in an Instagram post, appearing to welcome the police action.
“Arrested and swift to Lagos! Next time you won’t threaten someone’s life. Kudos to the Nigerian Police for doing their job,” the comedian wrote.
The development follows an earlier controversy in June 2026, when VeryBlackMan allegedly threatened to kill DeeOne after the comedian criticised VeryDarkMan.
The alleged threat generated reactions across social media, with several Nigerians calling for police intervention. Among those who publicly demanded his arrest were media personalities Mario Wazobia and Broda Mike.
The latest arrest has now brought the dispute before law enforcement, with attention expected to focus on the allegations and the outcome of the police investigation.
