Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz and his wife, singer Zuchu, have announced the end of their relationship, with the couple confirming they are going through a divorce after six years together.

Zuchu broke the news in a post shared on her Instagram Story on Sunday, revealing that she had decided to walk away from the marriage to focus on her personal well-being, health and music career.

Although the award-winning singer did not disclose the reason behind the separation, she suggested that despite their efforts to make the relationship work, circumstances had taken a different course.

“We tried, but Allah has His own plans,” she wrote.

Confirming that divorce proceedings are already underway, Zuchu added:

“I have finally decided to choose myself and this is a time to heal and focus more on my health and career. My husband and I are now separated and going through a divorce. I announce this with a heavy heart. After six years of being together, I’ve finally decided to choose myself.”

The couple officially tied the knot in June 2025, after dating for about five years. Their relationship attracted widespread attention across East Africa, with fans closely following their personal and professional journey, especially as Zuchu is also signed to Diamond Platnumz’s record label.

Following the announcement, Diamond Platnumz’s former partner, socialite Zari Hasan, reacted to the development. Zari, who previously ended her relationship with the singer over allegations of infidelity, reportedly praised Zuchu for enduring the relationship for as long as she did.

Neither Diamond Platnumz nor his management has publicly commented on the separation at the time of filing this report.
