The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has officially unveiled Senator Sharafadeen Alli as its governorship candidate and Adesoji Adedeji as his running mate for the 2027 general election, as the party steps up reconciliation efforts ahead of the polls.

The unveiling ceremony, held in Ibadan, brought together party leaders, stakeholders, candidates and supporters, with the APC presenting a united front as it seeks to regain control of Oyo State after eight years in opposition.

Addressing party members at the event, Oyo APC Chairman Moses Adeyemo said unity and reconciliation were essential if the party hoped to secure victory in 2027. He urged aggrieved members to put aside their differences and work collectively to strengthen the party across the state.

Adeyemo stressed that discipline, grassroots mobilisation and party cohesion would determine the APC’s success, calling on members to prioritise the party’s interests over personal ambitions.

He also appealed to Oyo residents to support President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates during the 2027 elections, arguing that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda continues to drive economic reforms, democratic stability and national development.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination certificate to Alli by APC Deputy National Auditor Hon. Gbenga Olayemi, signalling the party’s readiness to begin preparations for the election.

In his acceptance speech, Alli described his emergence as a victory for the entire party and thanked APC members across Oyo State’s 33 local government areas and 351 wards for their support during the governorship primary.

The senator also commended the APC National Working Committee, security agencies, women, youths, media practitioners and members of the National Assembly for ensuring what he described as a peaceful, transparent and credible primary election.

Calling for reconciliation, Alli extended an olive branch to fellow aspirants and aggrieved party members, urging them to unite behind the APC’s 2027 campaign. He pledged to prioritise agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment, economic growth, accountability, justice and improved welfare if elected governor.

Several party leaders attended the event, including Senators Ayoade Adeseun, Olufemi Lanlehin, Hosea Agboola and Yunus Akintunde, alongside the APC’s senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly candidates, underscoring the party’s determination to present a united front ahead of the election.
