Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has revealed why he allegedly turned down an offer to join Mavin Records despite claims that the deal was worth one million dollars.

The rapper made the revelation in a post shared on his official X account, where he explained that his personality and approach to fame influenced his decision.

According to Blaqbonez, he is not comfortable with the level of constant online engagement and fan interaction often expected from artists signed to major music labels.

“Need to get this off my chest before chanel drops, the reason I didn’t sign to mavin when they were begging me with a million dollars is cos i don’t really like posting,” he wrote.

The rapper added that he prefers to stay away from excessive social media activity and maintain a more reserved public image.

“I prefer 1 tweet per year than engaging my fans, I’m too big for that, I’m mysterious,” he stated.

Although Blaqbonez did not provide further details about when the alleged offer was made, the statement quickly sparked reactions across social media, with fans debating whether the rapper made the right career decision.

Mavin Records, founded by music executive Don Jazzy, is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential record labels, having managed and developed several successful artists over the years.

Blaqbonez, signed to Chocolate City, has built a reputation for his outspoken personality, unconventional marketing style and commercially successful projects within the Nigerian music industry.

The rapper is also known for frequently using humour and sarcasm in his online posts, leaving some fans questioning whether the statement was entirely serious or partly playful.

His latest comments come as anticipation continues to build around his upcoming project titled “Chanel.”

Neither Mavin Records nor Don Jazzy has publicly responded to the rapper’s claims at the time of filing this report.
