Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has dismissed claims that she snubbed fuji musician Wasiu Alabi Pasuma at a Lagos event over the weekend, insisting that the viral video circulating online has been misinterpreted.

The controversy began after a video shared on X showed Pasuma attempting to get Akindele’s attention while she was engaged in conversation with another guest. In the clip, the actress continues speaking, while Pasuma eventually returns to his seat.

The video quickly went viral, sparking claims on social media that the actress deliberately ignored the music star during the event.

An X influencer had reposted the clip with a caption suggesting Akindele “snubbed” Pasuma publicly, a claim that further fueled online debate.

However, Funke Akindele has strongly refuted the allegation, describing it as false and misleading.

Her response has since triggered mixed reactions online, with supporters backing her clarification while others continued to debate the viral footage.

The incident comes shortly after another online controversy involving the actress, when she was previously accused of snubbing fellow actress Toyin Abraham at a movie premiere—an episode that also generated heated reactions across social media.
