Abuja, Nigeria – Controversial social media activist VeryDarkMan has responded sharply to criticisms from politician Omoyele Sowore regarding the incarceration of cryptocurrency entrepreneur Blord.

Blord was remanded at Kuje Correctional Centre on Wednesday, facing charges of criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and the unauthorised use of VeryDarkMan’s identity. Sowore condemned what he described as a “celebration” of Blord’s detention, pledging to advocate for the case’s dismissal and the entrepreneur’s release.

Taking to Instagram, VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, expressed disappointment that Sowore chose public commentary over private communication. He issued a stern warning against any unauthorised use of his identity, hinting at potential legal consequences if his directives are ignored.

“Dear Omoyele Sowore (@yelesho), you had every opportunity to call me on the phone as a younger brother regarding this Blord matter. Because of the respect I have for you, if you had asked me to let it go, I might have. But instead, you chose to test your strength abi?” VeryDarkMan wrote.

He added that the incident underscores that influence and wealth do not place individuals above the law:

“In a country where people use money to escape the law and connections to manipulate cases, Martins Vincent Otse (aka VeryDarkMan), who is often considered poor, dirty, or small, has sent a man widely seen as well-connected and influential to Kuje Correctional Centre. Knowledge is indeed power.”

The escalating clash highlights tensions between social media influencers and political figures in Nigeria, raising debates over accountability, influence, and the legal system.
