Security operatives were deployed across Jos, the Plateau State capital, as Muslims marked the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, with authorities stepping up measures to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.

A visit to the Fibre Mosque near Old Airport Junction showed a strong presence of security personnel, while worshippers and residents observed the festivities in a calm and orderly manner.

Security was also intensified at other major Eid prayer grounds, including central mosques, markets, motor parks, and recreational centres, as part of efforts to prevent any breakdown of law and order during the celebrations.

In another part of the city, at the Dogo Karfe mosque, worshippers were seen observing their prayers peacefully under the watch of security operatives, with no reported incidents of violence.

The heightened security comes after the Plateau State Police Command placed the state on high alert ahead of Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, deploying personnel across strategic locations.
