Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has responded to rumours linking her to an alleged scam involving a fan associate identified as Motun.

The controversy began after Motun, a self-proclaimed devoted admirer of the actress, reportedly built a large Instagram following by presenting herself as closely connected to Iyabo Ojo. This perception, according to reports, led several followers to trust her and participate in a fan-based contribution scheme popularly known as “ajo,” where members pay money with the expectation of receiving returns and possibly meeting the actress.

However, the arrangement reportedly turned sour when some participants claimed they did not receive their money, while others alleged they were blocked after raising concerns.

Reacting during an Instagram live session, Iyabo Ojo distanced herself from the alleged scheme and clarified that she had no official association with Motun or any financial arrangement linked to her name.

She explained that while she appreciates her fans and their support, this does not extend to any formal role or endorsement. The actress also issued a strong warning to Motun, instructing her to stop promoting her movie and to return a premiere ticket that had been given to her.

This is not the first time the actress has had to address public allegations. In a previous incident, Iyabo Ojo also denied claims that she introduced one of her goddaughters to “Kayamata,” stating that she does not use or promote such products.

She further clarified that her relationship with her goddaughter is purely supportive, noting that her involvement was limited to assisting with business and legal guidance.
