Nigerian content creator Alado has apologised to Dapo Abiodun following a viral video in which he criticised the Ogun State government over the poor condition of roads.

The controversy began after Alado released a video expressing frustration over repeated damage to his vehicle while visiting the state. In the clip, he reportedly used strong language to highlight the deteriorating road network.

Governor’s Response Sparks Online Debate

Shortly after the video circulated, Governor Abiodun responded indirectly to online critics, suggesting that some could be sent to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps and alleging that certain critics were sponsored to tarnish his image. Though the governor did not explicitly name Alado, social media quickly connected the remarks to the content creator’s viral clip.

Unconfirmed reports also claimed that security operatives, including the DSS and police, allegedly laid siege to Alado’s residence, prompting speculation that he had gone into hiding.

Alado Addresses the Controversy

In a fresh response, Alado clarified his position and apologised for his tone, stating:

“First, let me say that I am not afraid of being arrested because we voted you to make our grievances known. I would like to apologise for the way I addressed you in the video. I said everything that I said out of frustration because my car was damaged due to bad road the two times I visited the state.”

Meanwhile, Adebayo Olufemi commented:

“For goodness sake. When has it become crime to say the truth. All what the guy said is truth. This is exactly why Nigeria is the way it is and will continue to be like this. Governor didn’t perform and someone is calling him out and that has become a crime. The only aspect I fault the guy is cursing the governor. Please let’s be sensible for once now.”
