EDO, Nigeria — Emmanuel Ogidi, a senior figure in the Peoples Democratic Party, has urged a thorough investigation into the recent attack targeting African Democratic Congress members in Edo State.

Speaking on Thursday, Ogidi described the assaults on prominent political figures, including Peter Obi and former John Odigie-Oyegun, as a “bad omen” for Nigeria’s democracy ahead of the 2027 elections.

He called on Bola Tinubu to direct security agencies to investigate threats to ADC members, prosecute the perpetrators, and ensure that political violence does not intimidate citizens or compromise electoral integrity.
