The Kano State Police Command has arrested Auwalu Ali, popularly known as Auwalu Dan Baba, following a coordinated, intelligence-led operation in the Dorayi area of Kano metropolis.
Police Public Relations Officer CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said the 26-year-old suspect was taken into custody on January 31, 2026, by officers from the Dorayi Police Division. Auwalu is alleged to have a history of organising thuggery groups to attack and rob residents in the state.

The victim was rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where a police officer donated blood, reportedly saving her life.
