Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has stirred controversy after alleging that Davido’s repeated losses at the Grammy Awards are part of a calculated effort by powerful Western music executives to break the singer’s spirit.

Cubana Chief Priest claimed the setbacks were designed to pressure Davido into submitting to what he described as “demonic” practices within the global music industry. He made the remarks following Davido’s latest disappointment at the 2026 Grammy Awards, where the Nigerian superstar lost the Best African Music Performance category to South African singer Tyla.

The outspoken socialite shared his views in a strongly worded Instagram post, urging Davido to remain steadfast and refuse to compromise his personal values for global recognition. According to him, the loss was not about talent or relevance, but an attempt to frustrate the Afrobeats star into submission.

In his post, Cubana Chief Priest encouraged Davido to shake off the Grammy outcome and stay focused on what he does best—making music and entertaining his fans worldwide. He also expressed confidence that the singer’s success would continue regardless of awards or external pressure.

“Oyibo dey do everything possible to break a strong man so he can do their demonic sh*t with them but he will never do ot,” he wrote. “Heads up brother, open the bag and drop another hot one for us. E no dey finish, gbedu na water.”

Davido has yet to publicly respond to the claims. However, the comments have reignited debates online about the Grammys’ treatment of African artists and the broader dynamics between Western music institutions and global stars.
