Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 01, Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area, Osun State, have indefinitely suspended former State House of Assembly member Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, citing alleged misconduct and actions undermining ward unity.
The suspension, announced in a letter dated Thursday, January 29, 2026, and addressed to Osun State APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal, followed a meeting of ward executives and leaders who reportedly discussed issues affecting cohesion within the ward. The document was jointly signed by 18 ward executives and five leaders.
Allegations Against Oyintiloye
The letter accused Oyintiloye of:
- Taking over an Executive Assistant (EA) slot and funds totaling N5.6 million without authorisation.
- Securing a personal EA slot through a third party while holding a federal appointment.
- Engaging in activities capable of causing division within the ward, including organising parallel meetings.
- Being absent from ward meetings and political activities for over three years.
- Failing to contribute financially or materially to ward initiatives despite benefiting from political appointments.
The ward officials stated, “Consequently, Hon. Bosun Oyintiloye is hereby suspended indefinitely from Ward One, Ibokun, and shall cease to represent the interests of the ward at any level.” They added that they remain open to intervention from party leaders to preserve APC’s unity ahead of upcoming elections.
Oyintiloye Dismisses Suspension
In response, Oyintiloye described the suspension as invalid and politically motivated. Speaking to DAILY POST, he claimed that the signatories were not recognised party executives and were acting in the interest of opposition forces in the state.
He denied all allegations, including controlling the EA slot or accessing the N5.6 million, and labelled the suspension a “ruse” aimed at discrediting him.
“If they truly have the power to suspend me, why can’t they go through proper party executive channels before going to the press? The same Gbenga Fagbamila, who was suspended for embezzling N7.5 million in 2022, is signing this letter alongside other disgruntled members. Their action is a joke of the century. I remain a loyal and respected APC member,” Oyintiloye said.
He urged the public to disregard the purported suspension, affirming his commitment to the party.
