A Federal High Court in Ibadan has delivered a decisive ruling nullifying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention held on November 15, 2025, in Oyo State, marking a major development in the party’s ongoing internal crisis.
The court barred members of the Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) from presenting themselves as national officers, effectively stripping the faction of legal recognition.
It further affirmed that the Caretaker Committee led by Mohammed Abdulrahman, with Senator Samuel Anyanwu as a key member, remains the only legitimate National Working Committee of the PDP until a valid national convention is conducted.
The judgment is the latest chapter in the protracted leadership dispute that has divided Nigeria’s main opposition party and continues to dominate political discourse ahead of upcoming elections.
