Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has reportedly been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre in connection with cyberbullying allegations involving fellow actress Mercy Johnson.
The arrest occurred on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Okorie’s Lagos residence. Journalist and BON Awards founder Seun Oloketuyi disclosed the development on Wednesday, noting that Angela spent the night at Yaba Panti Police Station before being transported to Abuja for further proceedings.
“She was put on a 6 a.m. flight to Abuja this morning to face court proceedings connected to a cybercrime matter involving Mercy Johnson,” Oloketuyi wrote on his Instagram page.
The incident follows Mercy Johnson’s announcement a week earlier that cyberbullying her and her family would not be tolerated in 2026, signalling a no-nonsense approach to online harassment.
The case is now set to proceed in Abuja, as authorities investigate the cyberbullying allegations.
