Nigerian singer Asake has set a new benchmark in Afrobeats history, becoming the artist with the most entries on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, hitting a remarkable 60 entries after his collaboration with Wizkid, “Jogodo”, climbed to number four this week.

The achievement further cements Asake’s dominance in the global Afrobeats scene, following a string of hits that have consistently resonated with audiences both in Nigeria and internationally.

Meanwhile, South African singer Tyla maintained her stronghold on the chart, as her song “Channel” continues to occupy the number one spot. The rising star, named the top Afrobeats artist of 2025, previously set a record with “Water”, which held the number-one position for an impressive 55 weeks.

In other Billboard news, Nigerian superstar Burna Boy achieved a new milestone on the Billboard Hot 100, earning his first top-20 hit with his feature on Gunna’s track “WGFT.” The song surged to number 16 following a remix featuring Chris Brown, further expanding Burna Boy’s growing global footprint.

With this feat, Burna Boy becomes the first African artist to debut a song on the Billboard Hot 100 in five consecutive years (2021–2025), highlighting his consistency and international appeal.
