Nigerian actress Judy Austin has urged her supporters to stop wishing death on people, warning that such actions do not reflect her values. The actress, who rose to public attention following her controversial marriage to actor Yul Edochie, made the appeal in an Instagram video on Tuesday.
Reacting to disturbing “death flyers” circulated by some fans targeting her perceived opponents, Austin emphasized that supporting her should never come at the cost of humanity.
“Hi, my warriors. My Judy lovers… I want to thank you again for the way you all fight for me, for the way you love me. I do not take it for granted,” she said. “I saw some very disturbing images with people in a casket, posts wishing people dead. That really broke my heart. Let me be very clear: that kind of action does not represent me. It’s not love, it’s not support, and it’s wrong. Life is sacred… do not defend me by losing your humanity. This is too much, this is too low.”
The actress’s warning comes amid persistent social media scrutiny and criticism, with netizens often tagging her a “husband snatcher” following her marriage to Edochie. Despite the controversy, Austin expressed appreciation for her loyal followers while drawing a firm line against harmful behavior.
Her statement highlights the growing concern over online hostility and the responsibility of public figures and their supporters to act ethically, even in emotionally charged circumstances.
