African footballers dominated headlines across Europe over the weekend, with standout performances in England, Spain, Germany, and France. Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo and Bournemouth’s Amine Adli were key figures in thrilling Premier League fixtures, while other African forwards and midfielders also made decisive contributions.
In England, Cameroon’s Bryan Mbeumo scored Manchester United’s first goal in a dramatic 3-2 win against league leaders Arsenal. This marked his second goal in two games since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations and his ninth since joining the Red Devils.
Moroccan winger Amine Adli snatched a last-minute winner for Bournemouth against Liverpool, scoring from a narrow angle for only his second goal for the club.
Other Premier League African scorers included Ghanaian Antoine Semenyo, who netted his first league goal for Manchester City in a 2-0 victory over Wolves, following goals in the FA Cup and League Cup.
