The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has appointed Mr. Sani Musa Daura as his Senior Special Assistant on Protocol Matters, the ministry confirmed on Wednesday.

Daura, a career civil servant with more than three decades of service in the FCT Protocol Department, will assume the new role immediately after his retirement from the civil service.

A statement issued by the minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media described Daura as a “seasoned civil servant” who has played a key role in protocol operations within the FCT Administration.

Daura rose to become Director of FCT Protocol in 2019, a position he held until his retirement. His official exit from the civil service is scheduled for January 24, 2026.

The appointment, which takes effect from the date of his retirement, is part of a broader reshuffle aimed at strengthening the minister’s team and ensuring continuity in protocol management.

Daura’s long career in the FCT Protocol Department is expected to support the ministry’s drive for smoother coordination of official functions and diplomatic engagements.
